WHY I WANT TO HELP CREATORS
Typecasting, sexism, preferential treatment- I grew up wanting to act but kept getting rejected because I wasn’t good looking, the right cultural ethnicity, or the director’s favorite. We are in 2020 and I still get audition notices looking for “Pacific Islander”, “Asian American” on the casting list. Even as a dancer, your talent often gets overlooked by other factors like the amount of industry connections you have. Indeed, it is 2020, but the entertainment industry is still stuck in the past and largely unhelpful for the up-and-coming artists of this new generation—that’s why we’re here to help.
Rather than waste time trying to meet the ridiculous expectations of entertainment industry professionals, we want to maximize our own productivity and help largely-unheard artists make a name for themselves and get their unique voice heard.
We need to forget about our complaints against an industry that was never going to hear us out in the beginning—we need to avoid becoming so overwhelmed by our emotions that we forget our original goal of just creating art and being as prolific as possible.
If the industry doesn’t see our worth, we’re going to create our own sense of value and someday make them sorry they ever thought so little of us.
Take the leap and start making your own productions. You don’t need someone to judge you if you’re ready. You need to find that out for yourself. You are the only person who has the absolute right to judge yourself.
I have taken the leap—and it has been an immensely fulfilling journey. I am able to act and dance at my own discretion as well as take my own creative freedoms. It wasn’t always smooth-sailing, however, and going from “I have worked in medicine for four years with a pre-medical education,” to where I am now has been both scary and exciting. Going into medicine would’ve been the easier path, and at one point I was even offered a job as a medical advisor on the spot without the need for an application.
Even though the opportunity was right in front of me, I knew deep down that I had a different calling. My dream was to make my own entertainment company.
And here I am now. If I could do it, you could do it too!
I BELIEVE MY SUCCESS IS BASED OF THESE 3 CORE VALUES:
I believe these three core values have helped me create work that I am proud of. Although I know not everyone is going to like my style, I am still proud that my team came together as a unit and gave it their all to make something happen.
Now it is your turn to make work that you can be proud of and enjoy—despite what other people may think. Of course, my team and I will be there to help through the whole process of creating a masterpiece.
Join my team as we work to help publicize your art on social media, Facebook ads, and artists’ portfolios. We will take you through all the steps of the creative process to make sure your work shines. I am happy to bring you years of experience from both my creative team and myself to ensure that your message finds an audience.
We are here to give you guidance as you decide how you want to go about crafting your artistic message, but we will never impede on your ultimate vision. You as the creator have the final say—we will give you advice and do our best to ensure things go smoothly, but we will never step on your toes. Just be sure to respect our work as much as us yours.
I can personally coach you through the process of brainstorming, filming, and problem solving, but just like I’ve learned from the medical profession, you can never force a patient to do what you think is right—you can only try to get them to make the push themselves.
NOW HERE ARE A FEW QUESTIONS TO ASK YOURSELF BEFORE WE START:
Can I sacrifice vision for mental and physical clarity in regards to my art?
Am I willing to respect other artists adding their own flare to my work?
If you aren’t asking yourself these questions you may not be ready to work with us as part of a team. These questions help identify whether you are ready to be taken to new heights. It is important to know that while working with my team you should be ready to communicate clearly and respect my artists.
There were many times that I had a vision for a project that didn’t pan out exactly how I imagined it would. I had to make sacrifices and respect the feedback my fellow artists were giving me, and this often led to my vision turning into something completely different, but it’s refreshing to look at things in a different way.
Are you ready to play that game? Are you ready to lose that idea of a perfect vision? Are you going to support fellow creators in their failures and let them explore? That is what we are doing for you and hopefully you feel like you can do the same for us. Remember, health and wellness is a big part of success. If you are stuck in the past you cannot move forward. If you are stuck inside your vision you will be blind to new and possibly more rewarding opportunities. I hope you are are ready to…
LEAVE YOUR MARK!
WHAT YOU WE WILL DO FOR YOU:
Create a clear vision that will target a specific audience
Plan that vision within a framework of open-collaboration
Coordinate a whole team of dancers, actors, videographers, makeup artists, and other crew members
Create a schedule for shooting
Compile all the clips together at the end to begin editing
HERE’S WHAT TO DO NEXT
How do I get started? What are the first steps?
Panic! Just kidding. No need to panic. First, take a deep breath. I know that for most of us it can be a lot to deal with for the first time.
The first step is to contact us and discuss what you would like to do. We need to know what your brand is about. We need to know who you are as an artist and what messages you want to communicate to the world through your work. Don’t have one? No worries. We will help you find a message.
Then, we need to decide what niche market you would like your brand to appeal to and start brainstorming a vision based off of that. It is important to know who you are serving. Trying to please everyone is not a good idea and you’ll run out of energy fast. We need a vision that will be practical.
From there we can start the real work.
IT’S TIME TO TAKE MASSIVE ACTION.
The longer you wait to connect with us, the busier we become; we have to regularly coordinate schedules with our group of actors and performers and more waiting gives us less time to maneuver around your schedule.
Making the decision to work with us today will give you faster access to our group of highly-talented individuals.
Sorry to say this—our guarantee is that there is no guarantee. As an artist you are an entrepreneur whether you know it or not. You are taking a risk every day that people won’t like your stuff.
The only guarantee is that you will get our support. We will try our best to help you through our services and if you are not satisfied, you are by no means obligated to continue working with us.
Being able to create work that inspires, moves, and transforms others is our ultimate goal, but there are still bumps along the road, and sometimes we fail. The greatest thing we can do for ourselves is to keep trying and learn from our mistakes.
